FAQ

Straight answers about tracks, profiles, and how the site works. If yours isn’t here, send it over on the contact page.

Getting Started

New here? Start with the basics.

Moto Maps is a directory for motocross and off-road riding. You can look up tracks, shops, brands, graphics companies, riders, and creators. Track pages carry what you actually need before you load the truck: hours, gate fees, amenities, photos, reviews, and weather pulled straight from the track's own coordinates.
You can browse without one. An account is free and lets you save listings, leave reviews, and build a profile. Free accounts get the full features and amenities list on 5 tracks a week and can keep 5 listings saved. Pro removes both caps and adds drive time from your live location instead of miles, the Nearby tab, the Browse map, and Recently Viewed.
Six: Track, Shop, Brand, Graphics, Rider, and Creator. Claiming is not a profile type, it's how an owner takes over a track or shop that's already on the site. Each one has its own section further down this page.
Yes, on iOS. Android is next. Until then the web version runs fine in any phone browser and you can add it to your home screen. Get it on the App Store
iPhone: open motomaps.co in Safari, tap the Share button at the bottom, scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen," then tap Add. Android: open motomaps.co in Chrome, tap the three dots in the top right, tap "Add to Home screen," then tap Install.
The website works anywhere. The App Store app is only available in the US and Canada.
Plenty. Every release, what shipped and what we're building next, is laid out on the roadmap. See the Moto Maps roadmap

Tracks

What to check before you ride.

Not as their own category. We stick to tracks and training facilities, since apps like onX Offroad already cover trails properly with elevation and conditions. Plenty of tracks have woods loops on the property though, and you can filter for those under Track Type.
Listings show hours when we have them, and there's an "Open now" toggle in the filters. Call ahead anyway. Hours go stale, weather shuts tracks down, and a lot of places run seasonal. If you drive out and the info was wrong, report it from the Contact page under "Wrong or outdated information" and we'll get it fixed.
It means private. Don't show up unannounced. A lot of these are backyard tracks or dealing with zoning issues, and surprise visitors make life harder for the owner. Find a public track nearby instead.
If we weren't sure about something, we left it blank instead of guessing. Blank means unknown, not no. This comes up most with pit vehicles, so check with the track directly before you load up quads, pit bikes, or e-bikes.
Stack as many as you want and get specific. Riding with your kid? Tick PeeWee or Mini on top of Motocross and you'll only see tracks they can actually ride. Want somewhere the family can hang out while you're on the bike? Tick playground or camping.
Tap the crosshair and it zooms out to show your live location next to the track. Under it, Pro users get a button that draws the driving route and gives you the real drive time and mileage. There's also a full map on Browse with every track as a pin, which is Pro.
Gas, food, lodging, and essentials like hospitals, vets, and repair shops within about 25 miles of the track. Each one shows real mileage, and one tap opens it in Google or Apple Maps. This is a Pro only feature.
Open the track, hit the Reviews tab, tap "Write a review." You can rate four optional categories: the track prep, the layout, the staff, and the facilities the track has to offer.
A check-in is a rider posting from the track that day to tell everyone how it's actually riding. Watered and prepped, or dry and dusty? Was it worth the drive? You can attach a photo with your check-in too, but it's optional.
A blue seal means the track is claimed and run by the owner. A green seal means it's a listing our team posted that riders on the app have confirmed is accurate.
Open your dashboard and hit "Add a track" under Quick actions. Give us the name, the location, and whatever you know about it, and we'll take it from there. Same goes for shops. If the track is already listed and it's yours, claim it instead. The Page Owners section below walks through how.

Account

Password, email, saved listings, and sign-in.

Forgot it? Hit "Forgot password?" on the sign-in page and we'll email you a reset link. Already signed in and just want to swap it? Settings → Account → Change password. If the email doesn't show up, check your spam.
Settings → Account → Change email. You'll confirm the new address before it takes over.
Settings → Account. Your username is also your link, so changing it changes your address and the old one stops working. Every page type follows the same pattern: motomaps.co/track/[username], and the same for /shop/, /brand/, /graphics/, /rider/, and /creator/.
In-app only, in the bell menu, not push. You'll get one when someone reviews your track, shop, or creator page, when you get a message, and when someone marks your review helpful, though you won't see who. Turn any of them off in Settings → Notifications.
Look for the heart icon. On Browse it sits in the bottom right of each image card, and on a profile it's in the bottom right of the cover image. Saved items live under the Saved tab in your account menu. Free accounts can keep 5 saved at a time, Pro is unlimited.
Open your page and switch the owner strip at the bottom to Hidden. The page drops off Browse and search, and you can flip it back any time. Tracks also have "Closed for the season" if you're shutting down for winter but want the page to stay up. Rider profiles work a little differently. They only show on Browse once you've filled in enough, and your dashboard lists what's still missing.
Yes. One account can run a rider profile, a creator profile, and as many tracks, shops, brands, and graphics pages as you own. Hit "Add a page" in the account menu to make another, and switch between them from the same place.
Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm. Your pages, reviews, check-ins, saved listings and badges are deleted outright. A few records we have to keep, like billing history and track suggestions, stay but have your details stripped out. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel that in the App Store too.
Email motomaps.co@gmail.com as soon as you can. Include your account name, the email on file, and roughly when you last had access. We'll lock it down, verify it's yours, and get it back to you.

Page Owners

For tracks, shops, brands, and graphics companies.

At signup pick the tile that fits: Track, Shop, or Brand. Brand asks on the next step whether you're a gear brand or a graphics company. Onboarding walks you through the rest. Fill in the details, add photos, and your page is live.
During onboarding choose to find an existing listing instead of making a new one. Search for your track or shop, pick it, and tell us how you're connected: owner, partner, or employee. You can attach something that backs it up, a business license or a utility bill, though it's optional. Once we approve it you get full control. Hours, media, pricing, review replies, all of it.
Tracks carry location and map, hours, pricing, photos, amenities, features, track types, layout, soil, machines allowed, and rules. Shops carry location, hours, contact info, inventory, brands carried, and a Services tab with your pricing. Gear Brands and Graphics companies skip the map, since people order from you rather than drive to you, but you can still set hours if you keep a storefront. A Gear Brand lists Product Lines, a Graphics Co. lists Services, and graphics pages also get a Pricing tab once you fill it in. Both get a Sponsored Riders section.
Brand, then Graphics Co. on the second step. You'll get a Services list for what you offer and a Pricing tab, which appears once you've added your first price.
Open your page and you'll see a Preview / Edit pill floating at the bottom. Click it to switch to Edit, then click the blue edit text in whichever section you want to change. Save when you're done. Flip back to Preview any time to see it exactly as riders do.
Switch to Edit, then click the plus in the row of social icons under your page name. Hours are in there as a dropdown, alongside your phone and email. There's a note field too, good for off-peak pricing or prepped versus unprepped.
Switch to Edit, then open Manage media. Add photos with the plus, hold and drag to reorder. Tracks also have a YouTube Video field under the grid, so drop a link in there and it becomes the virtual lap on your listing. Free pages hold 6 photos, Pro holds 12.
Switch to Edit and open Pricing. You can build separate sections instead of one long list, so practice, camping, and memberships each get their own block. Most of it autofills. Start a new section and type "ca" and Camping appears, same for Practice, Admission, Membership, and Rentals. Items autofill too, so under a Camping section typing "r" brings up RV Hookup.
Switch to Edit, then open the Services tab. Type the service name like "Oil Change" and add the price. Optional note if you want, like "$10 extra if the tube pops."
Settings → Your pages, switch off "Offers services" for that shop. The Services tab disappears, so riders know upfront and won't call asking about work you don't do.
Brand and graphics pages have a Sponsored Riders section. Switch to Edit and search the rider by username. Free pages show 3, Pro shows 6.
Switch to Edit, then open the Waivers section. Add a link or upload a PDF, toggle between the two however you like, and label each one. "Adult Release," "Youth Waiver," "Media Release," whatever fits.
Switch to Edit, then click the circle with the plus under your page username. Every platform is already prefilled with its address, so you only type your username, TikTok included. Websites are the exception, type the full address like www.yoursite.com.
Anyone with an account can leave one. You can't review your own page, and you can't remove someone else's. If you get a false review from a disgruntled customer, email us and we'll take it down.
Yes. On your own page, open the Reviews tab and you'll see a Reply button on each review. Your reply shows under theirs with your logo, and you can edit it later.
When you're editing your track, open the location block and switch on "Hide street address". City, state, and zip still show, and the map pin sits at the city center instead of your gate.
It's state-based. One featured track per state, first come first served. While you hold your state's slot, riders whose location is in your state, or who search any town in it, see you at the top of Browse with a distinct design. Pick 7, 30, or 90 days at $15, $45, or $99. It's a one-time buy, not a subscription, so when it runs out the slot opens for someone else. To grab it, open your own track page and choose "Feature Track" from the account menu.

Riders & Creators

For riders and creators with a page on Moto Maps.

A Rider profile is your own page as a rider: skill level, race class, rider type, your bike, sponsors, and results. A Creator profile is for moto photographers and filmers, built around your work, your gear, and what you charge, so track owners and riders can find you and reach out. They're separate pages, and one account can have both.
Your bike, home track, race class, skill level, and rider type, plus sponsors and results. Riders are filterable on Browse by race class, skill level, and rider type, so filling those in is what gets you found.
At signup pick Creator, then add a photo, your name, and a few basics. That creates your page and drops you onto it in edit mode, so you fill in the rest right there.
Your page is public from the moment you make it, but Browse has a bar to clear. Creators need four things: a display name, a username, at least one creator type, and a cover photo. Riders need three: a profile photo, a cover photo, and a display name or username. Until then your page still works by link, it just won't appear in Browse.
Open the Creators tab on Browse. Search a city, or filter by creator type: photographer, filmer, YouTuber, vlogger, drone operator, or editor. Their work, gear, and rates are on the profile.
Switch to Edit, then open your gallery and hit the plus. Hold and drag to reorder. Video works the same way and lands in the same grid, so photos and clips sit together and open in one lightbox. Free profiles hold 6, Pro holds 12.
Switch to Edit and open the Pricing tab. Add each service with an optional note and a price. The tab only shows on your public page once there's something in it.
Up to three tracks you shoot regularly, pinned to your profile so people booking you can see where you already work. Switch to Edit and pick them from the list.
Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, GoPro, DJI, Insta360, Blackmagic, RED, and Other. Pick a brand and you get a model dropdown for it, so you can list the exact body you shoot on. Missing a brand? Reach out and we'll get it added.
Not right now. If you're traveling or don't want inquiries, unlist your profile from Settings → Your pages.

Billing & Membership

Plans, payments, refunds, and cancellations.

Free gets you the full features and amenities list on 5 tracks a week and 5 saved listings, and the weekly count resets every Monday. Pro lifts both caps and adds drive time from your live location instead of miles, the Nearby tab, the Browse map, and the Recently Viewed tab.
A one-time $5 pass that unlocks Pro for a week. It's a single charge, not a subscription, so nothing renews and nothing gets billed again when it runs out. Good for trying Pro before committing, or for a trip where you want to find new spots for a few days. Riding all season? Pro works out cheaper. If you buy another pass while one is still running, it adds 7 days onto the end rather than running two at once.
$9 a month, or $90 a year, which works out to $7.50 a month and saves you $18 over paying monthly. In the app, Apple sets the prices for your country, so the upgrade screen is the number that counts.
On the website, all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover. In the app, Apple handles the purchase and charges whatever your Apple Account uses.
Right away, the full plan price at checkout. No proration, since Free costs nothing. Your billing cycle starts that day and renews on the same date each month or year.
Yes, from Settings → Billing. The switch takes effect at the end of your current period, so nothing is charged early and you don't lose days you've paid for. Changed your mind before it lands? Tap it again to cancel the pending switch. If you subscribed through the App Store, Apple handles cycle changes instead, from your subscription there.
Settings → Billing shows your next charge date. If you subscribed in the app, the App Store shows it too: tap your account picture, then Subscriptions, then Moto Maps Pro.
Depends where you subscribed. On the website, Settings → Billing → Cancel. If you subscribed through the iOS app, Apple owns that subscription and we can't cancel it for you: open the App Store, tap your account picture at the top right, tap Subscriptions, pick Moto Maps Pro, and turn off auto-renewal. Do it at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Either way you keep Pro through the period you've already paid for, then drop to Free.
On the website: Pro monthly, full refund within 24 hours of the charge. Pro yearly, within 72 hours. The 7-Day Pass is non-refundable since the days start immediately. After those windows there's no refund on the remaining period, but cancelling keeps your access to the end of it. Purchases made in the iOS app go through Apple and only Apple can refund them, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Either way, a billing error or a fault on our end is always refunded. Use the Contact page and include the email on your account.
Settings → Billing → Payment Methods. Changes take effect on your next billing date. If you pay through the App Store, update the card on your Apple Account instead, under Settings → [your name] → Payment & Shipping.
Nothing goes away. Your pages, reviews, check-ins, and saved listings stay exactly as they are, you just go back to the free caps. If you want it all gone, delete your account from Settings → Account.

Content & Community

Reviews, contributions, and getting in touch.

Anyone with an account can review a track, shop, gear brand, graphics company, or creator. You give an overall star rating, optionally rate the four categories for that page type, and write whatever you want. Reviews are public and tied to your profile, and you can edit or delete your own at any time. You can't review a page you own. Riders don't take reviews.
If a track has no photos yet, you'll see an "Add photo" tile in its media area. Same for video if a track has photos but no clip. What you send goes to us for review first, then lands on the page once it's approved.
Badges come from using the site: writing reviews, checking in at tracks, confirming listing info is correct, reporting bad info, suggesting tracks, adding media, and saving listings. They show up on your profile as you earn them.
Head to the Contact page and pick "Report content or user" from the dropdown. Include the username of the person you're reporting and where you saw it, and we'll look into it. If it's a listing with wrong details rather than something abusive, use "Wrong or outdated information" instead, or hit Suggest an edit on the listing itself.
Both are in your dashboard under Quick actions, "Report a bug" and "Suggest a feature." They're on the Contact page too if you'd rather use that. For a bug, tell us what you clicked, what happened, and what device or browser you were on. Screenshots help a lot.

Privacy & Legal

Your data, your rights, and the fine print.

Both are linked in the footer of every page. Worth a read before you sign up, especially the dispute and refund sections.
Your account info, whatever you put on your profiles and listings, your reviews and check-ins, and basic usage data like page views and searches. Payments go through Stripe on the website and Apple in the app, so we never see your full card number. The full breakdown is in the Privacy Policy.
Most of it you can change yourself in Settings. Deleting your account from Settings → Account removes your pages, reviews, check-ins, saved listings and badges outright, and strips your details from the few records we have to keep. For a copy of your data, email motomaps.co@gmail.com.
We ask about the cookies and local storage that keep the site working and show us how it's used. Accept or decline, and change your mind any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer. The session ID behind your weekly view limit is essential, so that one always stays on.
18 or over to create an account.
No. The listings, photos, reviews, design, code, and the Moto Maps name and logo belong to us or to the people who posted them, and our Terms grant you no license to any of it. Scraping, harvesting, bulk-copying, or reselling anything from the site is prohibited, and we enforce it. If you want to use something for a project, email us and ask.
